FIFA WORLD CUP TROPHY

Brazilian telecommunications company becomes first World Cup sponsor for Brazil 2014

FIFA is extremely proud to announce Brazil’s largest telecommunications company, Oi, as the first Brazilian FIFA World Cup Sponsor for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.

Oi is the largest telecommunications company in Brazil, offering local and long-distance voice transmission, mobile telephony, data communication, internet and entertainment. In a landmark agreement, which begins in 2011, Oi will become the official FIFA World Cup telecommunications service provider for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Already a major contributor to sporting development within its homeland,

Oi is set to play a major role in hosting the most eagerly anticipated sporting event of recent times in Brazil.

"Efficient and reliable communications are a vital and integral part of everything we do in the modern world, and to approach a FIFA World Cup without the help and expertise of a major telecommunications provider would be unthinkable. We are therefore delighted to announce that Oi will be joining FIFA as a global sponsor for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil," said Thierry Weil, Director of FIFA’s Marketing Division.

"Already Brazil’s largest telecommunications company, Oi has a rapidly-expanding reputation throughout Latin America and represents a perfect fit within the portfolio of FIFA’s World Cup Sponsors. We’re especially pleased that Oi is committed to continuing its emphasis on the sporting development of its own youth as this is obviously something that remains extremely close to our own hearts here at FIFA."

Oi’s agreement with FIFA begins in 2011 and will run until 2014, during which time the telecommunications giant will enjoy global rights aimed at consolidating the Oi brand as a supporter of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, as well as reinforcing the company’s image both at home in Brazil and throughout Latin America.

Global food supplier Seara signs up as final FIFA World Cup Sponsor

Global food supplier Seara signs up as final FIFA World Cup Sponsor

Global food supplier Seara, part of the Marfrig Group, has signed up as a sponsor of the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups™. The agreement, which takes effect immediately and lasts until the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil, was signed by FIFA President, Joseph S. Blatter, and Marfrig Group CEO, Marcos Antonio Molina dos Santos.

Marfrig signs up as the final sponsor of this year's FIFA World Cup™ in the uncooked meat and frozen food category. In addition to securing exposure for Seara and other Marfrig Group brands such as Moy Park, Paty and Pemmican at FIFA World Cups and FIFA Confederations Cup, the sponsorship agreement also includes rights for the general use of the FIFA Event Marks in advertising campaigns and product packaging for the Marfrig Group worldwide.

“Football is a great passion worldwide and the sport helps improve quality of life and bring people together. This is perfectly aligned with our communication strategy for the Seara brand, which offers healthy, delicious and high-quality food to consumers worldwide,” said Marcos Antonio Molina dos Santos, Marfrig Group CEO.

Seara is also the official sponsor of Brazil’s national team and one of its most admired football clubs, Santos, whose star player is Robinho.

“We are proud to welcome the Marfrig Group and in particular Seara to join us in delivering the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and 2014,” the FIFA President, said. “Sponsorship support is especially pleasing when it comes from such a well-known brand that clearly demonstrates a commitment to football at both domestic and international levels.”

Seara’s agreement with FIFA, which begins in 2010 and runs until 2014, sees them become the last FIFA World Cup Sponsor for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and follow in the footsteps of Brazilian telecommunications company Oi, which recently signed up as the first Brazilian FIFA World Cup Sponsor for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
